This is a so-called major release that also includes new functionalities for the various modules (Business & Document, Integrations and JOIN Customer Contact) and released at the end of March 2021. Attention: if you have installed several JOIN Business & Document websites on your JOIN Server, it is possible that the JOIN Websites will not start correctly after the installation of version 2021.3.630. This can be solved as follows:
1 Search for “Swashbuckle.Core.dll” on the disk containing the aspx sites if there is more than one JZD site
2 Switch the search results display to “Details”, add the “Product version” column.
3 Replace the file “Swashbuckle.Core.dll” version 5.2.1 with the correct version 5.6.0. At least 1 file contains this version.

¶ System Requirements
.NET: JOIN Case & Document 2021.3 requires version 4.7.2 of .NET
Search: JOIN Case & Document requires the installation of Elastic Search. We support the versions supported by Elastic up to version 7.6.2
Databases: From version 2021.3, support for MySQL will expire. SQL Server and Oracle are supported. If you report a problem in JOIN Case & Document that is related to MySQL, this problem will no longer be solved.

¶ JOIN Case & Document
Important: since version 2020.12, the following services have been included in the JOIN Background Service and thus become inactive:
- Decos JOIN Email Service (for sending and receiving mail)
- Decos JOIN ZTC Sync Service (for synchronization with JOIN Case types)
- Decos JOIN PDF Conversion Service (for the conversion of files to PDF)
You can remove or disable these services after installation of 2020.12. Since the software no longer takes into account the service, there will be no problem if you do not.
If you do not use one of the above services in your test environment (for example, if you do not want emails to be sent from the test environment (to prevent data leaks, for example), then you must enter one or more of the following in the JOIN Config Editor under the background tasks server change more of the following settings:
Background Service Email Service Tasks --> do not run set this if you don’t want emails to be sent or received from the environment
Background Service PDF Conversion Tasks --> do not run set this if you don’t want files to be converted to PDF on the environment
Background Service ZTC Sync Service Tasks do not run set this if you don’t want case type data to be synced with the environment

Postcode update: As of version 2021.3, no zipcode update will be released. From now on, the postcodes will be updated every day based on the BAG Extract (part of the BAG API).

¶ Actions
The 2021.3 release includes a lot of new features and improvements, such as:
- support of the BAG API (part of Common Ground) as successor to LV-BAG
Kadaster has renewed the BAG by introducing a RestAPI that queries BAG directly at the source (and thus replaces both LV-BAG and StUF-BG). Decos has developed a cloud BAC service that ensures that your JOIN Case system can use the BAC data. For more information about purchase and connection, please contact your account manager. - extensions in the interface with Validsign
Validsign is the market leader in digital signing and a partner of Decos. You send documents that you want to have signed in JOIN via the link to Validsign. After signing, the documents are safely placed back in JOIN Case & Document. The link has now been further extended with support for the Designer mode and the Text tags functionality. - the JOIN Config Editor is located in JOIN Admin
The JOIN Config Editor is an important link in the correct configuration of JOIN Case & Document. It is often difficult only for administrators to get to the config editor because it has to be started on the server. Even impossible for Cloud customers. That is why we have decided to bring all functions of the JOIN Config Editor into JOIN Admin. The functions are available to the Administrator user - It is now possible to bulk delete items in JOIN Admin
JOIN Admin contains a lot of configuration. Item profiles, templates, overviews, etc. In order to control the proliferation of configuration, it is important to clean up every now and then. This is now a lot faster and easier by doing it in bulk. So not one by one, but remove all unnecessary profiles in one go. - it is possible to send deletion messages per connected StUF-ZKN application from the case system (delete cases)
When a case is deleted in JOIN Case & Document, this deletion was not passed on to the connected StUF-ZKN application. That has now changed by being able to set per application whether case removal messages should also be forwarded. In this way, you ensure that no items continue to exist in other systems and you meet the archive requirements even better. - support of the case-oriented APIs
The case-oriented APIs are part of the larger Common Ground trajectory within the Dutch government. In the short term, these APIs should significantly change the application landscape and will replace the StUF platform. Decos is ready for the APIs and is happy to get started with connecting other systems to the case system. - extensions in the link between JOIN Case & Document and JOIN Collaboration
JOIN Collaboration is Decos’ solution for the great need to actively collaborate on documents with both colleagues and external parties. When the collaboration starts from JOIN Case & Document, audit functions and the inability to delete documents on which collaboration takes place are also taken into account from this version. - the new wiki (wiki.decos.com)
The current wiki.decos.nl needs to be replaced. From April 2021 you will find all information about the JOIN Products on the new wiki.decos.com. You don’t need to do anything for this change - it is possible for practitioners to create cases from the work stock
A wish of many customers to be able to start business from the work stock: this is the place that most users of JOIN Case & Document use on a daily basis. In order not to have to switch between parts every time, we have now also added an important function to the work stock: starting a new business. - it is possible to set per user whether dashboard and favorites may be used
Many users mainly use JOIN to handle actions, create documents and cases and to search for important information. For these users, the Dashboard and Favorites components are less relevant. These features can be disabled from now on.

¶ Actions
The 2021.3 release includes a lot of new features and improvements, such as:
- Local groups and permissions
It is possible to create local user groups in the JKC administration environment. These local user groups only contain users from the Active Directory. These groups can then be associated with privilege sets. This new functionality is available as a module. - Securely send emails from JOIN Customer Contact
From this version, e-mails can be sent securely from JOIN Customer Contact. When an e-mail is sent, the user has the option to tick the ‘send securely’ checkbox. The email is then sent via a third party. - Email functionality improvements
The emails that come from or are sent to the manually or automatically selected customer are immediately visible under the customer card. This takes into account the authorization of the mailboxes for the logged in user.

The lists of tasks and e-mails are provided with a checkbox. Users can use this checkbox to inform each other about who is viewing which task or email. It’s not about processing. That is why the ‘assign’ and ‘task’ functionalities exist.
This informative checkbox prevents multiple users from working on the same task or email. - Show my tasks based on the selected role
From this version, roles can be used. Applying roles allows a user to work with JKC in different capacities. For example in the morning for front office 1 and in the afternoon for front office 2. - Improvements in theme pages
The theme pages have been improved in the following way:
• HyperLink in theme page opens in new screen
• Organization style ignores Bold, Underline, Italics
• After inserting hyperlink, the formatting is not included in the next word/line
• Organization style is also applied in edit mode.
• Focus (cursor) is placed in a newly added text block
• Copy/paste showed images in the application smaller than in edit mode
• Show text blocks in the organization style
• Enter works in the text blocks
• Bullets can be indented (tab)
• Multiple lines of text can be formatted
• Heading and subheading formatting is not included in the next word/line
• Keywords are now shown as text controls
• A blank line starts with the default font and size format
• After inserting a main or subheading, enter the new line will be provided with the default value for font and size, and the main or subheading will not be copied to the new line.
• When a number of lines are selected and provided with a certain format, this has no influence on the text before or after
• When a new text block is added, a default local group can be associated with it that must always have access to every text block. This default value can be set via the cloudadmin administration tool (theme page settings)
