¶ JOIN Now
JOIN Now is the successor to JOIN Direct and allows you to integrate your office automation with JOIN Case & Document. For example, for simply storing your e-mail messages, generating letters and reports, and cleaning up your network discs.
In this wiki you will get an explanation about the functionalities of JOIN Now.
JOIN Now consists of a server component and a client component. This client component should be made available to the client PCs in your organization (these can be both thin and fat clients). JOIN Now is part of JOIN Case & Document and will therefore always be released at the same time as this application.
¶ Office 365 and JOIN (Now)
From version 6.26 of JOIN Case & Document you can also use JOIN Now as an add-in for Office 365. An important difference with the regular version of JOIN Now is the lack of a client (JOIN Now client and JOIN File control. means that you can use JOIN (Now) on any pc:
- in Outlook 2016 (the desktop application) and Outlook Online (the browser version) an add-in is available to save mails in JOIN Case & Document and attach attachments from JOIN to an e-mail
- in WORD 2016, Excel 2016 and Powerpoint 2016 (the desktop applications) and Word Online, Excel Online and Powerpoint Online (the browser versions), files from JOIN can be opened, edited and saved again in JOIN Case & Document. In the Online versions you also have the option to work in the file with other users simultaneously.
For technical information, please refer to the JOIN Case & Document whitepaper. For JOIN Now you must have a valid license for JOIN Business & Document. You can download the installation files for both server and client via the customer portal. This does not apply to the Office 365 variant.
¶ Client components or not?
With the introduction of the Office 365 integration of JOIN Case & Document, we have introduced functionality that does not require client software. Because we continue to support the traditional variant with client components in addition to this clientless variant, it is good to provide an overview in which cases client components are / are not needed.
