On this page you will find all the actions that are included in version 2021.5. This is a so-called minor release that also includes new functionalities for the various modules (Business & Document, Integrations and JOIN Customer Contact) and released at the end of May 2021. This minor release falls within the support of major version 2021.3. If you have not updated your JOIN Environment since the previous major release, you will find the intermediate minor updates in the wiki (https://wiki.decos.com/en/releasenotes).

Attention: if you have installed several JOIN Business & Document websites on your JOIN Server, it is possible that the JOIN Websites will not start correctly after the installation of version 2021.5.630. This can be solved as follows:
1 Search for “Swashbuckle.Core.dll” on the aspx sites disk if there is more than one JZD site
2 Switch the search results display to “Details”, add the “Product version” column.
3 Replace the file “Swashbuckle.Core.dll” version 5.2.1 with the correct version 5.6.0. At least 1 file contains this version.
If you want us to make this adjustment for you, please contact JOIN Support
Attention: as of version 2021.5, Decos will no longer create a scan folder for each user (action 146920). We do this to relieve the pressure on the file server. In most cases, your multifunctional (scanner) is able to create these scansource folders, but there are also scanners that cannot do this. In this case we would like to ask you to create a ticket with our support team. Decos is working on an adjustment for this situation,we expect to deliver this modification in version 2021.9 or 2021.11.
¶ System Requirements
.NET: JOIN Case & Document 2021.5 requires version 4.7.2 of .NET
Search: JOIN Case & Document requires the installation of Elastic Search. We support the versions supported by Elastic up to version 7.6.2
Databases: As of version 2021.3, support for MySQL has been discontinued. SQL Server and Oracle are supported. If you report a problem in JOIN Case & Document that is related to MySQL, this problem will no longer be solved.

¶ JOIN Case & Document
Important: since version 2020.12, the following services have been included in the JOIN Background Service and thus become inactive:
- Decos JOIN Email Service (for sending and receiving mail)
- Decos JOIN ZTC Sync Service (for synchronization with JOIN Case types)
- Decos JOIN PDF Conversion Service (for the conversion of files to PDF)
You can remove or disable these services after installation of 2020.12. Since the software no longer takes into account the service, there will be no problem if you do not.
If you do not use one of the above services in your test environment (for example, if you do not want emails to be sent from the test environment (to prevent data leaks, for example), then you must enter a background tasks server in the JOIN Config Editor or change more of the following settings:
Background Service Email Service Tasks --> do not run set this if you don’t want emails to be sent or received from the environment
Background Service PDF Conversion Tasks --> do not run set this if you don’t want files to be converted to PDF on the environment
Background Service ZTC Sync Service Tasks do not run set this if you don’t want case type data to be synced with the environment

Postcode update: As of version 2021.3, no zipcode update will be released. From now on, the postcodes will be updated every day based on the BAG Extract (part of the BAG API).
¶ Actions
The main changes in version 2021.5:
- support for connecting to identity providers (IDP) based on SAML and OpenID Connect (OIDC). For more information about the options for federated authentication, please refer to the this wiki page
- being able to work together on matters with JOIN Cooperating. See also this wiki page
- further expansion in the support of the ZGW APIs (Common Ground)
- secure mailing (with Zivver, for example). See also this wiki page
- from this version onwards, the same screen is used for creating a case document in both the work queue and the registration (the work queue screen is now also used in registrations). See also this wiki page, section “create new document”.

¶ Actions
The 2021.5 release contains a lot of new features and improvements, such as:
- Chat 2.0
Among other things, we have worked on improving customer recognition, linking customers and we now offer a summary of the chat for customers in the form of a PDF. Read more in the link in the action list. - Improves in job search
A number of performance improvements have been made to the task search, such as adding an automatic time period, improving the search query, using at least one search criterion and some bug fixes.Read more. - Improvements in retrieving numbers in the dashboard mechanism
In the previous versions of JOIN Customer Contact, the numbers of tasks, e-mails and social media messages were collected at many times. This was unnecessary in some cases, so that’s why it’s changed. We no longer always load the numbers when the user comes to the dashboard, but only at the following moments:
• After loading the Dashboard for the first time
• After Ending a Session
• After changing a setting for a channel
• When opening an item with a counter (for example, ‘My’ under Tasks)
